At the beginning of the New Year Mr. Wolfgang Lux joins the management of the POLOPLAST group. Together with Mr. Jürgen Miethlinger he will lead the company into the future.
As the company's commercial CEO, Mr. Wolfgang Lux will be responsible for sales, marketing, sales logistics, as well as for finances & accountancy and cost controlling, succeeding Mr. Guntram Bock in this office. Mr. Bock was appointed member of the managing board of the Wietersdorfer Group, POLOPLAST's parent company. Mr. Miethlinger, continuing in his role as technical CEO, remains responsible for all technical issues as the head of the production, production development, quality assurance, human resources and purchasing departments.
POLOPLAST, a pioneer in multi-layer polypropylene pipes, has developed from an Austrian niche player into an international supplier of plastic pipe systems. The POLO-KAL brand has become a synonym for domestic waste disposal pipes. This is confirmed by a market study that proved an 80% name recognition level in Austria. POLOPLAST is also conquering the international market for domestic waste disposal and already holds significant market shares in large parts of Europe.
For sewage piping POLOPLAST has developed POLO-ECO plus, a new, impressive generation of heavy-duty pipes that are proving successful on a national as well as international level.
Today the field of activities of the POLOPLAST Group comprises more than 40 countries where it has set up a strong network. POLOPLAST's partners are wholesalers of building materials and sanitary installations, licensees, industrial cooperation partners, as well as sole importers. Reference projects, such as the luxurious Conference Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, or the Museum Palace in the Vatican, have already been equipped with POLOPLAST products.
POLOPLAST focus their activities on pipe systems. POLOPLAST are also experiencing considerable success with their newest business unit, POLO-COMPOUNDING. Well-known plastics converters now bank on compound materials for the innovative fields of application of POLOPLAST's products.
Innovation is firmly established in the strategy of all POLOPLAST business units.

POLOPLAST are a company of the Wietersdorfer Group; their two locations, Leonding in Upper Austria and Ebenhofen in Bavaria, jointly yielded a turnover of EUR 75 M in 2006, which corresponds to a 20% increase as compared to the previous year. The double-digit operating results amount to over 10% of the turnover.
In 2007 POLOPLAST again expect a significant increase in turnover with an unchanged proportion of returns. This development will be continued in the years to come. New markets will be opened and the business activities in existing markets will be continuously developed. In the field of domestic waste disposal POLOPLAST will focus on efficient-energy domestic techniques and enlarge their product range by the addition of equipment for controlled housing ventilation with heat recovery and exhaust gas installations.

Wolfgang Lux has been an employee of POLOPLAST for 32 years; for 9 years he worked in the business-economics department, for 15 years in the purchasing department, 9 of these as head of department; from 1999 he was the sales manager for the Austrian market. As from Jan 1st 2007 Mr. Wolfgang Lux is the commercial CEO of the POLOPLAST Group.
